When I began Shelby Taylor Duncan Consulting a few years ago, I had some clients who were dear friends and were aware of both my MBA and my intuitive gifts. They embraced my ability to consider spreadsheets with equal weight to a gut feeling or a tarot reading. When a client had a bad feeling about a decision that looked great on paper, we took the time and space to pause and investigate further - often finding misalignments and points of divergence in our investigation. Pausing to tune in to our collective intuitions often helped to avoid bigger mistakes later. If I noticed a client was not in the right headspace for decision-making, we would take a pause. At times, the action item to prioritize before our next session was “take a nap and say no!”.

I share this because I have struggled to be open about my skills - particularly my intuitive ones - in the construct of spaces that also include business. In 2025, I am pushing myself to live more authentically and openly and as such, am going to be prioritizing creating a clear and easy methodology for others to understand how to design and live a life that is aligned with all parts of themselves - professional, political, and spiritual.
